Sapulpa Lady Chieftains 2020 Regional Champs(SPS) -- Fresh off winning the Regional Tournament at the Chieftain Center on Saturday, the Lady Chieftains are headed to the Area Tournament for a chance to advance to State.

Sapulpa knocked off Stillwater and Bixby last week and will now face Norman. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 5 at Memorial High School in Tulsa.

The Tigers are 23-1, riding a 21-game winning streak, and ranked No. 1 in 6A. The No. 7 Lady Chieftains have won 22 of 25 games this season including the last 10 by an average of 20 points.

The winner automatically advances to State. The loser will face the winner of Broken Arrow and Mustang for a second chance to make it to the final eight.

The State tournament is March 12, 13, and 14. Sapulpa last won a state championship in girls basketball in 2007.
