End of Year 2020

The 2019-2020 school year for students comes to a close with Distance Learning ending on Friday, May 15. All assignments need to be submitted to teachers by the final day.

As we published in the Parent/Student Guides at the outset of Distance Learning, all student grades for the spring semester will not drop below what was earned prior to the mandated closure of all schools due to the pandemic. A student’s grade may rise, but it will not fall.

We are quickly moving toward May 15 and would like to provide you with information and procedures we will follow to close out this school year, as well as a look toward our summer programs.

DISTRIBUTION OF PERSONAL ITEMS AND RETURN OF SCHOOL PROPERTY

Personal items will be distributed during the week of May 11 at your student’s school. Your student’s school will share specific details about schedules and directions for picking up those items. If these days do not work for your schedule, please call your student’s school to make an appointment.

The distribution process will occur in a drive-thru manner, where staff will take possession of the school property and deliver the personal items, marked with students’ names. Please remain in your vehicle.

Parents, we encourage you to gather any district items that have been checked out to your student this year, including Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, musical instruments*, calculators, fundraising items, and/or payments. On the same day, unless noted, you drive-thru to pick up your student’s belongings, we ask that you return the items that belong to the school.

We plan to resume all school-related activities including fine arts, athletics, etc. at this same time. However, the district will also have plans prepared in the event in-classroom instruction is halted due to the pandemic.
