Supt. Armstrong and Principal Shibley deliver a yard sign to a senior(SPS) -- When they woke up and ventured outside their homes on Thursday, Sapulpa High School seniors were greeted with a sign that proclaims a member of the Class of 2020 lives inside.

Approximately 60 Sapulpa Public Schools staff members lined up in their cars early Thursday morning at the high school to collect signs and addresses. From there, they drove around the community and placed the signs in the yards.

"Their senior year has been disrupted by this pandemic and so we're hoping this brings a little bit of normalcy and little bit of joy and excitement to their lives," said Principal Seth Shibley.

Each volunteer was given a list of three to five student names with addresses and then they were off to make the special delivery.

"My dad was yelling at me to come downstairs and I see people in my front yard and I really didn't know what was going on," said senior Regan Richards.

What was going on was that Regan had a couple of visitors who wanted to see her.

"My principal and our superintendent is here."

Principal Shibley didn't just oversee the operation, he jumped in a truck with Supt. Rob Armstrong and delivered signs, too.

"We're still here. We still care and we're gonna make this time as special and memorable as possible," said Mr. Shibley.

"It's really nice to know they care and that they came out here to do this for me," said Regan.

Senior Audrey Malay saw the delivery coming and greeted Mr. Shibley on the front porch. She said the sign helped to somewhat ease the pain of losing out on the last couple of months of her senior year.

"Kind of a replacement for all the regular senior activities people get to do," said Audrey. "It's just really nice and I appreciate it a lot."
