Dawn Duncan(SPS) -- Dawn Duncan has been announced as the next principal of Sapulpa Middle School.

Duncan's hire was official when the Sapulpa School Board of Education unanimously approved the offer of employment during its regular June meeting on Monday.

Duncan has spent more than 20 years in education as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in three different school districts.

She has been the principal of Hamilton Elementary at Tulsa Public Schools the past two years.

Her career started teaching 7th Grade Language Arts at Broken Arrow Public Schools before teaching 5th grade and then moving into administration as an assistant principal.

Following her stay in Broken Arrow, Duncan spent two years as the principal at the 4th and 5th Grade Center and one year as middle school principal at Wagoner Public Schools.

After her three years in Wagoner, Duncan was the principal at Grimes Elementary at TPS before moving over to Hamilton.

She will finish her duties at Hamilton and begin the transition to Sapulpa Middle School for the 2021-22 school year. Duncan replaces Stephanie Kiesau who moved into the Programs Coordinator position at the Washington Administrative Center.
