(SPS) - "It smelled kind of like burning rubber. Then we heard the house alarm go off."

It was at that moment that Dylan Wick said he and his three friends realized that a neighbor's house was on fire, as he told KTUL.

Wick along with Wyatt Hall, Nick Byrd, and Seth Byrd ran to the house and looked for ways to get in. They knew 90-year-old Catherine Ritchie was more than likely inside.

Nick Byrd was able to get into the house through a back door. He found Ms. Ritchie in the hallway. The smoke was so bad she became disoriented and couldn't find her way out. Nick scooped her up and carried her to safety.

Ms. Ritchie and the boys escaped the fire without injury.
