The 2019-2020 school year has come to a close.

As we published in the Parent/Student Guides at the outset of Distance Learning, all student grades for the spring semester will not drop below what was earned prior to the mandated closure of all schools due to the pandemic. A student’s grade may rise, but it will not fall.

Below is information you need to know regarding the return of school-issued devices and library books, yearbook orders, picking up personal items, summer programs, and summer meals.

DISTRIBUTION OF PERSONAL ITEMS AND RETURN OF SCHOOL PROPERTY

Personal items were distributed during the week of May 11 at our schools. If these days did not work for your schedule, please call your student’s school to make an appointment.

Parents, we encourage you to gather any district items that have been checked out to your student this year, including Chromebooks, textbooks, library books, musical instruments*, calculators, fundraising items, and/or payments. On the same day, unless noted, you drive-thru to pick up your student’s belongings, we ask that you return the items that belong to the school.

RETURNING CHROMEBOOKS AND LIBRARY BOOKS

Student Chromebooks and chargers should be returned to the Washington Administrative Center. Prior to dropping off the Chromebooks, please follow these procedures.

1. Make sure all Chromebooks are fully charged.
2. If the student name sticker is missing from the Chromebook, place a piece of paper between the keyboard and screen with the student’s first and last name.
3. If any repairs need to be done before August, place a piece of paper between the keyboard and screen with a brief description of the issue (Example: missing keys, broken screen, etc.)
4. Place all Chromebooks, chargers, and library books inside a plastic trash bag for ease of return. Plastic trash bags will be available at the drop-off location if you do not have one.

The Washington Administrative Center is located at 511 E. Lee Ave. The building will be open to the public Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. It is open until 2 p.m. on Fridays. There is no need to call ahead.

You may return any school-owned library books at that same time. Students in 9th through 12th grades who have enrolled in Summer School should keep their devices until the completion of their courses.

2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

Sapulpa Public Schools is planning for a traditional start to school in August. Our students’ first day in the classrooms will be Aug. 20. Please review the 2020-2021 school year calendar here. We plan to resume all school-related activities including fine arts, athletics, etc. at this same time. However, the district will also have plans prepared in the event in-classroom instruction is halted due to the pandemic. Our goal is to ensure your child receives the highest quality of instruction regardless of the location.
