Big Blue Band earns 2nd place at state competition

(SPS) -- The Big Blue Band ended the marching season on a high note, placing 2nd overall in the Oklahoma Bandmasters' Association state marching contest on Saturday, October 21. The band also received the High Visual Caption Award at the competition.
"We would like to thank our Sapulpa Administration, the Bartlett Foundation, our amazing band parents, and our Sapulpa community for all of their support throughout the season," said Sapulpa Bands director, Whitney Yokum.
The band took their award-winning DISCO performance to OBA. Earlier in October, the band placed first in their class and 7th overall at the regional Bands of America competition in Flagstaff, Arizona.
