State testing dates for our schools
Posted on 03/27/2019
(SPS) - It may be April Fools’ Day, but we’re not joking when we say state testing begins on April 1.

Special Education students at Liberty, Holmes Park, and Jefferson Heights begin taking part in the Oklahoma School Testing Program (OSTP) on Monday.

The OSTP meets the requirements of the federal law that requires students to be assessed in English Language Arts, Math, and Science. Parent, Student and Teacher Guides for students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 are available. The guides provide a list of test-taking tips, objectives covered in the test, and practice tests. Please review the appropriate guide with your student.

Like you, we want your student to succeed. At the bottom of this page are some tips you can do at home to help you prepare your student for testing.

These are the testing dates for each school separated by date and grade.

STRATEGIES FOR REDUCING TEST ANXIETY

1. Discuss the test openly and in a positive way.
2. Have realistic expectations of your child's performance while encouraging his/her best efforts.
3. Emphasize that the test is only one measure of academic performance.
4. Emphasize that test scores do not determine a person's worth.
