Lady Chieftains soccer coach Arundell notches 150th career win

(SPS) - 150 wins!

That's the number of victories our Lady Chieftains head soccer coach, Lori Arundell, can claim now. The 150th was official following the girls 8-0 win Saturday over Shawnee.

The team is now 10-3 on the season and currently 2nd in the District standings. With two games remaining on the schedule, they're on the verge of making the playoffs. The top four teams from each District advance to postseason play.

May the odds be ever in your favor, Lady Chieftains!

Arundell, a former All-State soccer player and a graduate of Sapulpa High School, has roamed the sidelines for 22 years, all of them here for her alma mater.

Ask her about what she thinks of the accomplishment and she'll tell you it's not the most important thing happening on the pitch.

"Honestly, not as excited as what I am with these girls this season. They've already had 10 wins which we haven't had that in over 10 years," Arundell said. "It's a great group of kids."

The girls and boys teams close out their home season April 17, Senior Night, against Norman. The final regular season game is April 20 in Owasso.
