Class of 2020

Thank you for visiting this page. We will continue to update it when we have new information to share.

As many of you are aware, our facilities are closed and will not reopen until at least June 1. This closure and the limits on social gatherings have had an affect on our end-of-the-year events, including Graduation. Our intention during the pandemic has been to host a traditional commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020. Due to the aforementioned timeline, we have pushed the traditional Graduation back to allow more time for the possibility of the social gatherings guidelines being loosened.

We have a few dates we would like for you to circle on your calendar.

May 5 - Cap and Gown Distribution. Seniors who have yet to pick up their honor cords, NHS stoles, valedictorian/salutatorian medals, or cap and gown may do so between 9 and 11 a.m. in the High School back parking bus loop.

May 22 - This is Graduation night on our school year calendar and we felt it was important to honor our seniors regardless of the current limitations. We will conduct a virtual ceremony complete with speeches from the Superintendent and Valedictorian, as well as recognition of each senior. This is scheduled to premiere at 7:30 p.m. It will be archived on YouTube to watch as often as you like.

June 26 and June 27 - This is the first option for our Graduation and Prom weekend. The plan is for Graduation to be held in the football stadium on the 26th, followed by Prom at the CityPlex Towers on the 27th. Prom tickets that were previously purchased will be honored and ticket sales will be reopened for juniors and seniors via PayPal. More information on the PayPal option is forthcoming. We will set a decision date of June 12 for this option. If the guidelines at that time limit social gatherings to a number that is not suitable to host these events, we will push our plans back.

July 17 and July 18 - This is the second option for our Graduation and Prom weekend. Collins Stadium will be the site for Graduation on the 17th, while Prom will be held on the 18th. The decision date for this option is July 3.

We understand these plans may not be ideal for everyone, especially those in June and July. That is why we are presenting a Virtual Graduation on May 22. As we’ve said numerous times, we are holding out hope and planning for the opportunity to give the Class of 2020 a traditional sendoff, but the 22nd is an important night and one we want to maintain so that all have an opportunity to participate.
