Parent Commitment

As a Ping Parent your main responsibilities are to attend once a month required Parent Meetings where Coach presents important information about the month or upcoming events. You are not required, but highly encouraged, to become active in the Booster Club. Sapulpa is a wonderful school, but unfortunately they cannot afford to fully fund our program. All uniforms, competition and travel fees, and choreography fees are paid for independently by the parents. The Boosters are a parent run organization takes care of all fundraising for the team- each Ping has an individual account under the Boosters, so your payments will all be through our parent treasurer. Missing payment deadlines will result in your child missing performances, and potential demerits.

Communication with Coach is largely through email, so it is important that you maintain and check the email account given to me. Additionally, I expect that you will support the rules and expectations outlined for your child in the Ping Constitution.

All team members are expected to participate in both the "spirit squad" events such as football & basketball games as well as the competitions. We try out for every halftime performance and competitive routine- not all team members will make every performance. At first it may seem unfair, but we have a reputation for excellence which is taken very seriously. The team will definitely attend a Nationals, but location and time will be determined by the new coach.

Ping Commitment

All Pings are required to be enrolled in at least one dance class outside of school. Studios in town are: Art in Motion, Ovations, Patti Parrish School of Dance or Inspire Arts in Glenpool. It in preferred that this be a technique class with an emphasis on technique and not competitive choreography.

Ping is first hour of the school day, however we usually start practice between 6:30-7:00am. You will be required to perform at:

·         Home & Away Football Games (Friday/Thursday nights Sept- Nov)

·         Fall Mini-Clinic one week night for football season

·         TSF Comptetition (Halloween weekend)

·         OSDTDA State competition (December)

·         Home Basketball Games (Friday/Tuesday nights Jan- Feb)

·         Spring Mini-Clinic one week night

·         Sapulpa Dance Collective (spring)

·         Nationals (March)

·         Spring Show (April)

·         We often have extra required fundraisers, team bonding events, competitions, or volunteer opportunities on the weekends or in the evening.

The Ping-Ping Constitution is taken very seriously and the demerit policy is enforced. This keeps our organization's reputation at the highest level both in the Sapulpa community and at the completions we attend. Read the Constitution carefully to make sure that you are willing to uphold the grades, attendance, appearance, behavior, and dance ability required to be a Sapulpa Ping-Ping.
