Kendall Lamproe(SPS) – Sapulpa High School senior Kendall Lamproe of the Sapulpa FFA Chapter earned first-place honors in the 2020 Oklahoma FFA Equine Science Entrepreneurship Proficiency Award area during the Oklahoma FFA Virtual Awards Ceremony on May 12.

“As I developed experience with training, I set out to buy my first horse,” Lamproe said. “In my SAE, I wear many hats from training, grooming, general maintenance of stalls, working with others to develop nutrition programs for each horse, and competing with these horses at different levels of competition.”

While she continues to develop herself in the equine industry, Lamproe said she has also acquired the skill of discussing different aspects of the equine industry. She said she has begun teaching other ways of riding with a hands-on approach.
The equine science entrepreneurship proficiency award is designed to recognize students who are involved in a supervised agricultural experience in horse production, breeding, marketing and other areas of the equine industry.

The award is sponsored on the state level by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and Connors State College. The $1,000 state winner scholarship is sponsored by Nelson and Helen Taylor. This event is sponsored on the national level by Red Brand.
