Middle School employees surprised with gifts from local church

Gift Cards given to Middle School employees(SPS) - The first official day back for teachers is typically filled with lots of laughs, lots of information for the upcoming year, and surprises.

This year proved no different for teachers at Sapulpa Middle School.

On Monday afternoon, Principal Stephanie Kiesau held a staff meeting and midway through the beginning-of-the-year-get-together she spilled the beans on a secret she had been keeping for three weeks.

The school had been adopted by Faith Baptist Church and members of the congregation were there bearing gifts. The employees were given goodie bags filled with items such as snacks, pens, and stress balls. But that wasn’t all.

The church gave employees gift cards from Walmart, Dollar Tree, Goldie’s Patio Grill, and QuikTrip - each worth $25. They also gave each a coupon from Happy Burger for a free meal.

That’s more than $100 for each employee and more than $5,000 in total gifts!

Faith Baptist Church picks a school each year to adopt and Sapulpa Middle School was their chosen site for 2019-2020. The church will help the school with volunteering needs - such as test proctoring - all year long.

Thank you to the wonderful folks at Faith Baptist. We appreciate your support.
