Eli Williams(SPS) - Before a packed Chieftain Center, Sapulpa Chieftains junior quarterback Elijah (Eli) Williams made his decision on which university he will attend in 2020.

The dual-threat QB has received numerous offers but narrowed his decision to Kansas State, TCU, Texas Tech, and North Texas.

Flanked with signs adorned with the logo of each school, Williams sat alongside his mother and grandparents. He thanked his family, friends, and coaches before reaching under the table and grabbing an orange Nike shoe box.

"I will be committing to the great university of TCU," he said as he reached into the box and pulled out a Horned Frogs visor.

This past season, Williams completed 74 of his 134 pass attempts for 1,275 yards with 11 touchdowns and only two interceptions. But, it’s with his legs that he made teams pay. He ran for 916 yards and 15 touchdowns on 150 carries. Williams was a catalyst behind the Chieftains’ first winning record (7-4) and playoff berth in five years.

He’s participated in both the Under Armour All America Football Camp and Elite 11 quarterback competition, and he’s been invited to Adrian Peterson’s All Day Elite Camp as well as to Honolulu next January to participate in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl.
