Sapulpa Lip-Syncing Sensations(SPS) - Sapulpa theatre students took part in the Oklahoma Thespian Festival, a statewide celebration of excellence in educational theatre, this past weekend.

The festival was held at Tulsa Community College VanTrease Performing Arts Center Friday and Saturday.

Our High School students were among many from across the state to compete in acting, singing, and technical theatre events in an effort to qualify for the International Thespian Festival in June.

Students can also compete in the Tech Olympics which includes events such as Costume Quick Change, Cable Roll Relay, Leg a Platform, Hang a Light, and Prop Shift among others.

Khoa English, Elle Larson, and Haley Brooks won first place in the Costume Quick Change event. The tech team also won the title for Best Team Name with Backstage Ninjas.

Seniors have the opportunity to audition for more than 20 college representatives as well as audition for college scholarships. Spencer Cartwright, Cameron McLaughlin, and Jadyn Rose each received college call-backs for their auditions. Jadyn was a finalist for Thespian Scholarships.

School theatre groups get to present a 10-minute presentation. The Sapulpa Lip-Syncing Sensations performed Wicked.
