School Resource Officers Elder and Diehl(SPS) - With the start of the new year comes a new addition to Sapulpa Public Schools.

Officer Jeff Elder joins Officer Phil Diehl as the second full-time school resource officer in the district.

Elder’s first day was Jan. 7.

He is a 10-year law enforcement veteran with the last three and half years on the Sapulpa Police Department staff.

The School Resource Officer Program is a partnership with the City of Sapulpa. The SROs are Sapulpa Police Department officers who work solely for Sapulpa Public Schools when school is in session.

Officer Elder will spend the first two weeks with Officer Diehl before he transitions to his new office inside Sapulpa Middle School. He will be responsible for the Middle School, Jefferson Heights, Liberty STEM, and Freedom Elementary.

Officer Diehl will continue holding office inside Sapulpa High School while splitting his time with the Junior High and Holmes Park. Both men will share responsibility for Bartlett Academy.

On any given weekday, at least four different officers will be seen patrolling our schools - officers Diehl and Elder as well as off-duty Sapulpa Police Department officers.

Welcome to Sapulpa Public Schools, Officer Elder.
