Sapulpa Public Schools has partnered with global learning company Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to implement a comprehensive digital curricula experience for its students and teachers. A full 1:1 program grades 3-12 for all four core subject areas. English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science is planned.

A phased implementation began in the fall of 2015, with students and teachers at the secondary level using HMH digital curriculum for Science and/or Social Studies, while select elementary classrooms used the digital Science program. Curricula were accessed during this time using classroom sets of Google Chromebooks. In the fall of 2016, SPS went 1:1 with the Chromebooks for students grades 3-12 while adding English Language Arts to the digital curriculum scope. Math will be rolled out in the fall of 2018.

Another area of focus for this digital transformation is professional development. HMH is well equipped to deliver professional development services that support teacher readiness for this increased level of digital instruction. It is important we have time not just to bring digital curriculum, but also work with our teachers. We want to ensure they have what they need to feel confident using it in class. Professional learning for educators is KEY to this journey. Sapulpa Public Schools knows that support for teachers is vital to ensure everyone - students, teachers, families, and the community - benefits from this learning transformation.

SPS has chosen to work with HMH to create a true partnership in learning that will grow and evolve along with the needs of the school district. A key element we must all remember is that true transformation takes time, therefore, this is a journey, not a race.
