Liberty STEM Mystery Skype(SPS) - Are you landlocked? Is it hot or cold there? Do you have a McDonald's?

Those are just a few of the questions that were asked Wednesday during Mrs. McCallum's second-grade class at Liberty Elementary STEM Academy.

Her class Mystery Skyped with a school in a different state.

A Mystery Skype is a way for two schools across the country or world to connect so they can learn more about them and where they live.

The students are not told where the other school is located and through a series of yes and no questions, they try to determine where their new friends are located.

Mrs. McCallum said she incorporates on average one Mystery Skype a week, and she said it's something her students enjoy doing.

"They love the opportunity to see other classrooms and see other students and find out how much like them they really are," said Mrs. McCallum.

The Mystery Skypes help the students with the language arts and social studies curriculum.

And it's just not schools in the U.S. that her class Skypes with. They recently spoke with classes in Mexico and Sweden.

"To discover that Sweden and Mexico both have McDonald's was very reassuring to them."

So where was the school they Skyped with today located? You'll have to watch the video to find out. It's a mystery!
