1:1 Chromebook Initiative Information

SPS Students & Parents,

We are putting Chromebooks in your hands - SPS Chieftain Stronger Bond Progress!!

Sapulpa Public Schools is excited to report that the 1:1 Chromebook deployment has begun. In August, students, grades 5 - 12, throughout the District began using classroom sets of Chromebooks to access lessons via Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Digital Curriculum in Science and/or Social Studies.  In November, the District piloted a 1:1 Chromebook initiative which allowed Bartlett Academy students to take their devices home.  In January, the 1:1 initiative was rolled out at the high school with the Junior Class as well as interested seniors.  At this point, the District has approximately 2,000 Chromebooks in use. Next fall English and Language Arts courses in grades 3 - 12 will be added to the digital curriculum platform.

JANUARY 2016 - Digital Curriculum Update

Sapulpa Public Schools is committed to provide the very best learning environment for all students, one that makes learning personal and allows for creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. In order to achieve this goal, SPS is embracing a digital learning transformation.  Currently, classroom sets of Chromebooks are being used to facilitate the HMH Digital Curriculum in Social Studies grades 6 - 12 and in Science grades 5 - 12.  In November, a 1:1 student device initiative was implemented at Bartlett Academy and in December Chromebooks were issued to SPS teachers.

The next phase of the device rollout is coming soon for Sapulpa High School juniors and seniors. We will host three Chromebook informational meetings to explain the 1:1 initiative, responsibilities, and opportunities which will allow 11th and 12th grade students to check out a Chromebook to use for the remainder of the school year.  If your child is currently a junior or senior at SHS, please plan to attend one of the following meetings:

  • January 20, 2016 @ 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium

  • January 21, 2016 @ 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium

  • January 22, 2016 @ 7:30 a.m. in the high school auditorium
